Former YBNL signee Lyta has poured out his frustrations, revealing the tough times he’s been facing since parting ways with the record label that once pushed him into the limelight. In a candid and emotional outburst, the singer made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to support his music once again.

“Please stream my songs, I need money,” Lyta pleaded, adding, “I’ve been drinking garri every day since I left YBNL.”

Once a promising star delivering back-to-back hits under Olamide’s YBNL label, Lyta now says his music barely gets attention. His latest song has reportedly struggled to hit 10,000 streams across platforms after a whole month—a painful contrast to the roaring numbers he once enjoyed.

Visibly frustrated, the singer didn’t hold back his emotions:
“If you people don’t stream my old music, I won’t drop another one,” he said. “Nigerians are very wicked. Since I left YBNL, nobody wants to stream my music. Was it only because of Olamide you supported me? You all pushed me to leave, and now you’ve turned your backs on me.”

Lyta shared that he feels deceived and abandoned. He expressed his weariness with constantly releasing songs that go unnoticed.
“The one I dropped last month—did anyone stream it? I’m getting thinner by the day. I want to add weight too. I’m tired of dropping music that nobody wants to hear. I’m tired of begging.”

His cry has sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans have shown sympathy and called for more support for the singer, others argue that talent alone isn’t enough in today’s music scene, citing the importance of consistent branding and strong management.
