Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, today led the signing of a key partnership agreement between the National Police Service (NPS) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Jogoo House, Nairobi.
The agreement outlines joint initiatives aimed at modernising the police service, including reform dialogues, youth leadership training for station commanders, and enhanced engagement with parliamentary committees.
IG Kanja welcomed the collaboration, calling it a strategic step toward institutional development and greater accountability within the Service.
He thanked UNDP for its continued support, pledging transparent and effective implementation of the programmes.
UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Madelena Monoja, lauded the partnership, expressing confidence that it would help strengthen police-public relations and support lasting reform.
The event was attended by senior officials from government oversight bodies, the judiciary, and the police leadership, highlighting the broad support for advancing policing standards in Kenya.
