National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has met Stephen Mwangi Kamau, the young Nakuru man who was arrested after abusing him on social media.

Mwangi is currently facing charges of using abusive language and misuse of an electronic gadget.

His lawyer, Otieno Aluoka requested Ichung’wah for a face-to-face reconciliatory meeting, which he accepted.

Taking to social media, after meeting Mwangi, the Kikuyu MP said he had forgiven him and would write to the court to request the unconditional dropping of the charges when the matter comes up for mention.

"Following the suggestion of his lawyer, Otieno Aluoka, for a face-to-face reconciliatory meeting, we had a cordial discussion. In the spirit of Christmas and forgiveness, we will be writing to the court to request the unconditional dropping of the charges and criminal case when the matter comes up for mention," said Ichung'wah.

The lawmaker committed to guiding Mwangi to becoming a responsible and productive citizen.
