Content creator and social media influencer Georgina Njenga has broken her silence on the struggles that led to her unexpected disappearance from the public eye, revealing a deeply personal journey marked by mental health battles, heartbreak, and alcoholism.
In a heartfelt interview on Prince Newton’s show, Georgina shared that her break from social media was triggered by a dark period in her life, following a painful heartbreak that plunged her into emotional turmoil.
“I was going through something I didn’t know how to handle,” she said. “It affected my mental health and body I lost a lot of weight and turned to alcohol to cope.”
”What began as a form of escape soon spiraled into a full-blown addiction. Georgina openly admitted that she became an alcoholic, using alcohol to numb the pain rather than face her problems.
I wouldn’t advise anyone to use alcohol as an escape,” she said. “If you choose to drink, do it for fun, not to run from your problems.”
Her drinking habits often led to public outbursts and online drama, moments she now deeply regrets. She described how alcohol clouded her judgment and prompted actions that embarrassed her and worried her close friends.
”Once you take alcohol for the wrong reasons, when you get too drunk, you snap and start doing things that you won’t like,” she explained. “I’d post absurd things, get into fights I didn’t even recognize myself.”
The breaking point came when Georgina realized she needed to reclaim her life for the sake of her daughter. With determination and support, she began her journey to sobriety a decision she says has completely transformed her life.
Today, Georgina is back online, appearing healthier, calmer, and more self-aware. Her physical recovery has seen her gain 10 kilograms, a change she’s embraced despite continued online body shaming.
”People made hateful comments. Some said I was too skinny, others said my tattoos now look like pigweed,” she said.
Despite the criticism, Georgina remains grounded, prioritizing her mental peace over public opinion.
”It’s peaceful,” she said, summing up life in sobriety with a quiet strength that signals just how far she’s come
Georgina’s story is a powerful reminder of the silent battles many face behind the filtered world of social media and the courage it takes to heal and grow in the public eye.
