Kenya’s Harambee Starlets extended their unbeaten run at the ongoing CECAFA Women’s Senior Challenge Cup in Dar es Salaam with a dominant 4-0 victory over defending champions Uganda on Tuesday evening at the Azam Complex.
Midfielder Diana Wacera set the tone with the opening goal in the 18th minute, before veteran Dorcas Sikobe doubled Kenya’s lead just eight minutes later.
Violet Nanjala added a third in the 28th minute, giving head coach Beldine Odemba’s side a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Martha Amunyolet sealed the emphatic win with a fourth goal in the 81st minute.
The result lifts Kenya to second place in the round-robin standings with six points—level with hosts Tanzania, who top the table thanks to a superior goal difference.
Elsewhere, Tanzania thrashed Burundi 6-0 to maintain their lead.
Kenya will next take on South Sudan on Thursday before a potentially decisive showdown against Tanzania on Saturday.
