Hope Kid Opens Up About Academic Struggles And Being Called “Dwanzi”

Kenyan gospel artist Hope Kid has shared about his journey through academic struggles in school and being labeled “dwanzi” in certain subjects.

Hope Kid recalls struggling with science subjects, especially chemistry and mathematics, in the topics like the periodic table that required memorization, pattern recognition and grasp of abstract concepts. These left him feeling overlooked and underestimated.

Speaking in an interview on Oga Obinaa’s show, the artist opened up about his struggles in various subjects, saying: “Mimi nikiwa high school nlikuwa dwanzi msafi, kwanza ile periodic table ilinisumbua sana.”

In his hit song “Delilah” brought him into the limelight making him one of the youngest gospel singers in Kenya while continuously blended urban beats with faith-driven lyrics.

Hope Kid has become a  motivational speaker and song-writer who encourages young people facing similar struggles, proving his perseverance shows labels do not define someone destiny.
