Tanzanian music star and Konde Music Worldwide boss, Harmonize, has opened up for the first time about his past relationship with actress Kajala Masanja—this time choosing to focus on the lessons learned and the respect he still holds for her.
In a candid conversation with the Simulizi na Sauti blog, Harmonize revealed that although their relationship ended, he hasn’t let go of the admiration and gratitude he feels towards Kajala. In fact, he hinted at plans to surprise her with a gift so meaningful, it would leave “a lifelong memory.”
“I have nothing but respect for Kajala,” Harmonize said, smiling. “By God’s grace, I’ll do something memorable for her. It won’t matter if she’s married or not—this is just something from the heart.”
When asked whether the gift might be an attempt to rekindle their romance—similar to his grand gesture in 2022 when he gifted her a Range Rover to win her back—Harmonize made it clear: this time, it’s not about getting back together. It’s simply about honouring someone who once meant a lot to him.
The revelation marks a significant shift from the way Harmonize has previously spoken about Kajala, including in his emotional track Dear Ex, where he expressed pain and frustration over their breakup. But now, his tone is more reflective and mature.
“She’s older than me, and that alone demands respect,” he said. “Looking back, I realise I caused her a lot of hurt. I may never be able to undo that pain, but the least I can do is treat her with dignity—even if we’ve gone our separate ways.”
Harmonize’s comments reflect a growing sense of accountability and emotional growth. By acknowledging his mistakes and choosing to focus on respect rather than resentment, he’s showing a different side of himself—one that fans haven’t often seen.
“It’s not always about fixing what’s broken,” he added. “Sometimes, it’s about learning from it and appreciating the role that person played in your life.”
