Former Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has raised alarm over the abrupt withdrawal of his security detail, terming it a politically motivated attempt to intimidate him.
Muturi revealed that the two police officers assigned to him due to his previous role as Speaker of the National Assembly were ordered not to report for duty.“Last night at around 7:30 PM, my security detail was withdrawn. The two officers who had been assigned to me owing to my previous position as Speaker were instructed not to report on duty today.” said Muturi
He described the move as suspicious and possibly aimed at silencing him, but vowed to remain vocal on issues affecting the country.“If this is yet another attempt to cow me into silence, they’ve dialed yet another wrong number,” Muturi asserted.
The former CS did not specify who may have issued the directive but emphasized that such actions only strengthen his resolve to speak out.The withdrawal comes amid growing political tensions and increased scrutiny of former state officials.
Muturi’s remarks have sparked debate over the treatment of former high-ranking leaders and the politicization of state security assignments.
