Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali on Tuesday hosted Kenyan President William Ruto for a one-day working visit, underscoring the longstanding and close ties between the two neighboring countries.

In a statement after the meeting, Prime Minister Abiy said the discussions reflected the deep, historic and brotherly relations shared by Ethiopia and Kenya. The two leaders held talks aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across key areas of mutual interest.

Regional peace and security in the Horn of Africa featured prominently in the discussions, with both leaders exchanging views on current challenges and opportunities for cooperation in the region. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to stability, dialogue and African-led solutions to regional issues.

The visit highlighted the continued collaboration between Addis Ababa and Nairobi as they work together to promote peace, security and development in the Horn of Africa.
