The United Democratic Party (UDA)Trans-Nzoia County Youth Network has launched a grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at sensitising young people on the government’s development agenda and progress under The Plan.
The network said the initiative will focus on engaging youth at the grassroots and highlighting opportunities created through the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
According to the network, young people remain a key pillar of the government’s economic transformation programme, with more than two million jobs created through initiatives including Kazi Kwa Ground, Kazi Majuu and Kazi Kwa Mtandao.
The jobs, it said, span several sectors, including the Affordable Housing Programme, road infrastructure development and sports facilities.
The government is currently undertaking the construction of 6,000 kilometres of roads countrywide, alongside the development of 32 stadiums, including the Talanta International Stadium.
The network also cited Jitume Labs and other digital initiatives as part of efforts to expand opportunities for young people.
The mobilisation drive comes ahead of the 2027 General Election, with the network seeking to increase awareness of government programmes among youth.
