Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir has recorded a statement at the Regional Police Headquarters concerning the abduction and sodomy of a blogger based in the coastal city.
The 25-year-old blogger Bruce John claimed about 20 Mombasa county officers abducted him at his home in Bamburi on September 12, accusing him of condemning Nassir’s leadership.
John further claimed the 20 would later take turns to sexually assault him in the Miritini area.
Speaking after recording his statement, Nassir condemned the inhumane act on the blogger, asking the police to expedite their investigations into the incident.
Previously, the governor had condemned those linking him to the heinous act.
“Throughout my life, neither I nor any of my family members have crossed the line of meting out violence on anyone," he said.
