The government is determined to establish a passport office in Malindi town next year with an aim of making it easy to get travel documents for the residents of North Coast region.

Malindi Deputy County Commissioner David Lusava disclosed that the intervention is targeted at enhancing service delivery, especially to the youth going for work abroad and hence the need to travel to Mombasa to get passports.

Lusava explained that the new office will be able to save time and travel fare as well as increase the issuing of passports at the same time, thus meeting the demand for travel and job opportunities abroad in the area.
