Nottingham Forest have named former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche as their new manager, signing the 54-year-old on a deal running until the summer of 2027.

Dyche becomes Forest’s third manager of a turbulent season, replacing Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed just 17 minutes after Saturday’s 3-0 Premier League defeat to Chelsea.

Postecoglou oversaw eight winless games—drawing two and losing six—after being appointed to succeed Nuno Espirito Santo, who lasted just three matches.

Forest currently sit 18th in the Premier League, with only one win from their opening eight fixtures.

Dyche’s first game in charge will be Thursday’s Europa League clash at home to Porto, followed by a league trip to Bournemouth on Sunday. His backroom staff will include Ian Woan and Steven Stone—both former Forest players.

The appointment marks Dyche’s return to management following his dismissal from Everton in January, where he spent nearly two years and led the club to 17th and 15th-place finishes.

Across 75 league games at Goodison Park, he recorded 21 wins, 31 defeats, and 23 draws.

Previously, Dyche enjoyed a long and successful spell at Burnley from 2012 to 2022, achieving two promotions to the Premier League and securing European qualification for the first time since 1967.

He also managed Watford during the 2011–12 season before being let go after a change in ownership.
