Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has stated that the government is speeding up the process of completing development projects that are spread all over the country in order to increase economic growth and improve people’s lives.

During the resource mobilization forum for Boda Boda Saccos held at Alego Usonga, Siaya County, Prof. Kindiki remarked that the moment for postponements in the execution of projects is not at all; hence the contractors were ordered to accelerate their works so that the investments can be used by the people of Kenya.

“There will be very limited or no delays at all in project implementation in the government’s plan of action to ensure people are empowered. Irrespective of political, regional, or religious affiliations, every part of our country is entitled to equal attention,” Kindiki stated

The DP accused opposition leaders of what he called “cheap politics” concerning the health of ODM leader Raila Odinga and assured Kenyans that the former Prime Minister was well and in good health.

He also acknowledged Siaya Governor James Orengo’s cooperation with the national government and adaptation of the broad-based administration to accelerate county development. “Orengo has demonstrated leadership by being committed to the welfare of the people of Siaya. This spirit of collaboration is what will enable us to deliver quality services to our people,” he stated.

According to Kindiki, Siaya is one of the areas that are benefiting the most from the government’s ongoing development programs. The county has received the construction works of fish landing sites in the district with a value of KSh3.1 billion, totaling nine landings along Lake Victoria and 25 new markets under construction, apart from several affordable housing and institutional hostel projects.

Kindiki said that the concerted efforts amounted to more than KSh35 billion worth of investments by the Ruto administration, a move designed to create employment, increase local incomes, and promote participatory growth of the region.

“It is not a surprise that the Kenyan government remains committed to that goal of making sure no region is left behind in the march toward a wealthy and fairer Kenya,” he affirmed.
