The Ministry of Defence has announced the names of 106 candidates shortlisted for interviews for civilian positions advertised late last year, marking the next stage of the recruitment process.
In a notice released on Wednesday, the ministry said the shortlisting exercise for vacancies advertised on December 30, 2025, had been completed. The successful applicants will now attend interviews at the Defence Headquarters, Ulinzi House, along Lenana Road in Nairobi.
The recruitment is aimed at filling 30 civilian positions across two categories. These include 15 Garden Assistant III posts and 15 Support Staff/Sanitary Cleaner positions.
As per the ministry, a particular date and time for the interview have been allotted to each shortlisted candidate, which is also mentioned along with his/her name in the official notification.
“The Ministry of Defence wishes to inform the general public that the shortlisting process for the vacancies given below has been completed,” the notification read.
Candidates have been asked to appear at the place of the interview with their original identity cards and certificates.
Furthermore, it has been advised by the ministry to make sure that all original documents have been returned to them after verification.
Moreover, the Ministry of Defence gave out a stern warning against any attempt to manipulate the recruitment process. According to the warning, any form of canvassing or solicitation of favour would lead to immediate disqualification.
The ministry further urged all the candidates as well as members of the public to come forward to report any bribery, fraud, and corruption via the public affairs official email address of the Ministry of Defence.
A full list of the shortlisted candidates has been posted on the official website of the Ministry of Defence, allowing all the candidates to check whether they have been shortlisted and their interview schedules.
This information has come at a time when many Kenyans are waiting to know more about the 2026 recruitment exercise of Kenya Defence Forces, which is usually announced in September/October.
Each year, there are thousands of applicants for the KDF recruitment exercise in Kenya. This exercise recruits applicants for GSO Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/Women, and Defence Forces Constables among others.
