The government has broken its silence on Margaret Macharia Nduta’s predicament, where she is facing execution in Vietnam after being found guilty of drug trafficking.
Nduta, who was sentenced to death on Thursday, March 6, is scheduled to be hanged today, Sunday, March 16.
Responding to spirited calls from Kenyans for government intervention to save Nduta, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’oei regretted that her case is complex and difficult.
However, Sing’oei said the government is doing everything within its disposal to secure a reprieve for the lady and Kenya.
"Margaret Nduta’s case is complex and difficult, but we are doing everything within our disposal to secure a reprieve for our nation," said Sing'oei.
