President William Ruto.

The government has gazetted two new State Lodges in Bungoma and Kwale counties to facilitate President William Ruto’s stay during his visits across the country.

In a gazette notice seen by TUKIO.co.ke, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen officially designated the official residences of the Kwale and Bungoma County Commissioners as State Lodges.

“It is notified for the general information of the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration declares the Bungoma County Commissioner and Kwale County Commissioner’s official residences as State Lodges,” read the notice.

This brings the total number of State Lodges in the country to nine, with the others being the lodges in Kisumu, Eldoret, Sagana, Mombasa, Kakamega, Kisii and Nakuru.

The lodges are used by the president and other senior government officials during official functions, retreats, or travels.

They are maintained by the government, specifically the State House Comptroller’s office.
