The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has mourned the death of youth leader and former Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) student leader Elvis Otieno, popularly known as “The BEAST,” describing him as a passionate advocate for youth rights and an influential mobilizer within the party.
In a statement shared on its official X account, ODM said Otieno died in Mombasa on Monday, paying tribute to a young leader whose dedication to youth empowerment left a lasting impact.
“We are saddened by the news of the passing of Mr. Elvis Otieno, aka The BEAST, a member of the ODM Youth League’s Comrades Chapter and a former student leader at the Technical University of Mombasa, which occurred yesterday in Mombasa,” the party said.
ODM remembered Otieno as an outgoing, cheerful and committed youth leader who devoted his time to championing the interests of young people.
“The BEAST, as he was popularly known, was outgoing, cheerful and a good mobilizer who dedicated his life to championing the rights of the youth,” the party added.
Otieno was a member of the ODM Youth League’s Comrades Chapter, a platform that brings together young party members and student leaders to promote youth participation in governance and public affairs. During his time at TUM, he earned a reputation as an energetic student leader and mobilizer.
The party extended its condolences to his family, friends and colleagues, praying for strength and comfort during the difficult period.
“We condole with the family, friends and relatives of Mr. Elvis Otieno and pray for God’s comfort and peace during this difficult time of mourning. May his soul rest in peace,” ODM said.
