Part of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s security detail has been reinstated by the government.
Gachagua’s top state security was withdrawn immediately after the Senate overwhelmingly voted to uphold his impeachment by the National Assembly.
Days later, the former DP lamented that President William Ruto had exposed him to danger after allegedly ordering the withdrawal of his security.
However, in the latest development, during a church service at St James ACK Cathedral in Kiambu Town on Sunday, October 27, Gachagua had enhanced security.
His close ally Kiambu senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa confirmed the restoration.
"The state has reinstated part of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s security detail. In the same spirit, I urge the government to take the next honorable step and reinstate his employees as well. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen to be done," Thang'wa said.
