Gor Mahia Suffers First Defeat of the Season Against City Stars

Ten-man Nairobi City Stars came from behind to defeat champions Gor Mahia 2-1 this afternoon in the FKF Premier League at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, marking their first loss of the season and ending their three-match unbeaten streak.

Levin Odhiambo gave Gor Mahia the lead in the first half, but City Stars fought back in the second half.

Robinson Asenwa equalised on the hour mark, followed by Dennis Oalo, a former Gor Mahia player, who scored the winner just eight minutes later.

City Stars played the final minutes with ten men after Edwin Buliba was sent off in the 89th minute for a second yellow card.

This victory marks City Stars’ first win of the season, having previously earned just two points from their first five league matches.

The win propels City Stars to 17th place in the 18-team league, while Leonard Neiva-coached squad remains in ninth position.
