Four more bodies have been exhumed from Kwabinzaro in Kilifi County, raising the total number recovered since Thursday to nine.
On the second day of the exercise, three graves were opened, where four victims were found buried naked in shallow pits.
Authorities say there could be more graves in the area, with the homicide department already mapping out 27 suspected burial sites.
Unlike the Shakahola graves, which were deeper, those discovered in Kwabinzaro are shallow and appear to have been prepared differently.
The exhumation is set to continue next week as officers work through the bushy and expansive area.
Government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor told them that once the recovery process is complete, DNA will be analyzed to identify the victims, as was done in Shakahola.
Families with missing persons have been asked to report and submit DNA samples for possible matching.
Apart from that, the government indicated that it is ready to release 37 of the bodies of Shakahola victims who have already been identified to their families for burial.
