A family in Kericho is calling upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to expedite investigations into the death of their kin, which they suspect was a murder.
The body of Jackline Mbone, a mother of three, was found burnt beyond identification in her rented house at Mjini Estate on August 11, 2025.
Family members point out that they suspect the estranged boyfriend of Jackline may have been involved in the murder.
In an interview with Citizen TV, the family members claimed the man trailed her home, attacked her, and proceeded to burn the body.
Had she died before that, Jackline had locked her salon and headed home. All that she had and her remains reduced to ashes by the fire. Incredibly, a motorbike parked inside the house, with petrol in full tank, were left untouched.
The grieving family, are already making arrangements for her burial, they have been infuriated by what they refer to as slow investigations. They are appealing to the authorities to act with haste and see justice served.
Police, on their part, report that they are pursuing crucial leads and have assured the family that justice will be served.
