Kenyan singer and reality TV star Bahati is celebrating once again, but this time it is not his music that is making headlines. Instead, he is making news for his passionate plea to the government on behalf of the Harambee Stars.

Bahati took to Instagram to celebrate the historic performance by the Kenya team during the AFCON qualifiers, commending the team’s actions and congratulating players for putting the country on the continental map.

Bahati did not just praise the Harambee Stars for their work rate and perseverance in his post, but also dared President William Ruto to specifically reward the players’ achievement. For the singer, the young players need more than applause they need affordable houses as a gesture of gratitude for their role in national pride.

“Congratulations Champs for this far ????????????????. Let’s talk to H.E the President… Vijana wapate 2-bedroom affordable housing for making history! Good job Stars!!!” Bahati wrote.

The post quickly went viral, with divided opinions on social media. While most of the fans agreed with the artist that the players deserve material rewards besides monetary bonuses, others could not help but troll Bahati over past controversies, including his much-publicized financial woes.
