Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohamed has refuted claims that his Vice President McDonald Mariga has been kicked out of his position.
Responding to social media claims, Mohammed termed the claims as baseless.
There were reports that Mariga had been quietly removed and replaced by Abdallah Yusuf who is also a FKF official.
The claims ignited a flurry of reactions from fans and stakeholders in the football community.
Hussein while clearing the air on the claims emphasized that no such decision had been made and that FKF remains firmly grounded in its constitutional procedures.

“Kindly disregard misinformation circulating on social media. FKF is an institution guided by its constitution, which we strictly adhere to. Our focus remains on delivering a successful CHAN 2024 and raising the standards of Kenyan football,” Hussein posted.
The FKF Constitution, particularly Article 41, outlines the legal process required to remove an elected official. It mandates that a dismissal must be proposed either by the National Executive Committee (NEC) or at least one-third of FKF members, followed by a vote requiring a two-thirds majority.
As it stands, no such motion has been tabled or voted on.
