Leaders allied to ex-deputy president Rigathi Gachagua are demanding the immediate release of former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi, who they claim has been abducted.
Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa and his Nyandarua counterpart John Methu claimed Mwathi was kidnapped during the chaos that erupted at a funeral in Limuru in which Gachagua was in attendance.
Speaking at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road on Thursday, November 28, Thang’wa alleged that Mwathi was taken away by men in a Subaru.
Thang’wa said the Subaru vehicles are synonymous with the DCI detectives, hinting at the officers’ involvement in Mwathi’s alleged disappearance.
"We want to ask the DCI, please. We know you're the Subaru men. Mr. Mwathi was taken by a Subaru. Please return Mwathi to his spouse. The wife is here, the children are here, and of course they want their father and husband back," Thang'wa said.
