Former police constable Lillian Biwott has been found guilty of killing her husband, Victor Kipchumba.
Biwott, who was attached to the Eldoret branch of the Kenya Bureau of Standards, shot Kipchumba more than 10 times in the chest and head following a long-running family dispute.
She would then surrender to the police after the October 9, 2023 incident.
While testifying in Eldoret High Court, Biwott claimed she acted in self-defense to protect herself and her children.
She told the court she had been informed by her househelp that Kipchumba was planning to kill their four children and rushed home.
On arrival, Biwott said her husband tried to take her AK-47 rifle forcibly, and that was when she prayed him with bullets.
Eldoret High Court found her guilty of murder and will be sentenced on December 16.
