President William Ruto has issued a directive to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration to ensure that every constituency in Nairobi county is made a sub-county to improve distribution of Government services.
President Ruto has said that this move will help the Government to ensure that access to Government services is timely, efficient and effective for Kenyans in all areas.
Currently, Nairobi County has 11 sub-counties including Westlands, Dagoretti North and South, Langata, Kibra, Roysambu, Kasarani, Ruaraka, Embakasi South, North, Central, East and West, Makadara, Kamukunji, Starehe and Mathare and 17 constituencies.
"I agree with your leaders that every constituency needs to be a sub-county so that when the government is planning for the people, it plans strategically and with ease to ensure that every single part of the country is included and that no area is left behind," said President Ruto
The President was speaking during a church service in Nairobi County.
He was accompanied by various leaders including Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa among other leaders.
