The transport industry in Kenya is in mourning following the news that Azym Dossa, the founder of Easy Coach, has passed away. According to the company’s Thursday announcement, the founder of the transport company and former managing director has died.
The company eulogized the founder as a visionary leader whose hard work and determination have shaped the company to what it is today. Azym Dossa’s hard work has laid the foundation for the company’s operations in the industry, particularly in the area of customer relations and safety standards.
Azym Dossa is no stranger to the transport industry in Kenya. For many years, he worked in the industry before he decided to start his own transport company. For close to two decades, he worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Akamba Bus before he decided to do things differently.
When he finally decided to start his own transport company, he returned to Kenya at the age of 50 after leaving Canada to start Easy Coach. Despite the many doubters around him at the time, he went ahead to launch the company in 2003 with only seven buses.
Today, the company operates dozens of buses that travel to major towns in Kenya.
The transport company under the leadership of Azym Dossa has over the years developed the reputation for having the best booking system in the industry, as well as safety standards that have set it apart from the rest.
Earlier in the year, the founder of the company decided to step down due to health concerns before handing over the reins to the company’s new managing director, Zulfiqar Adatia.
