Popular Kenyan musician Wilson Opondo alias Willy Poze has been cleared of cyber harassment charges. The move follows a review of the case by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Artist and influencer Diana Marua Omach brought the allegations to the picture. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions deemed the allegations inadmissible due to procedural errors collected during forensic evidence.
Following cyber harassment allegations, Communication Authority of kenya confiscated Willy Paul’s phone. The Communication of Authority submitted the findings in a report that was dated 21st December 2021.
It was later revealed that the forensic evidence was obtained without a court order. Part of the ODPP letter read,
“Premised on the foregoing, we direct that the case should be closed as it will occasion a misca**iage of justice,” “The arrest was the result of some baseless accusations intended to ruin my reputation. I was demonized in the public glare, mocked, and my name dragged through the mud with little regard for the facts,”
Willy Poze shared that he opted to share the story since it’s vital for his fans to understand the truth. He captioned the post with,
“Didn’t want to post this but I have no intention of messing anything for anyone but people need to know what really happened. people need to know the truth. Yes it’s about time. And I hope all the corporates get to see this.”
