Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has emphasized the critical role of elected leaders in driving Kenya’s development agenda by connecting grassroots priorities to national programs.
Speaking after a consultative meeting held at the Karen Residence in Nairobi, Kindiki reiterated that collaboration with leaders ensures that community needs are prioritized and barriers to progress are effectively addressed.
“The country’s development agenda is an aggregation of programs and projects spread across all regions. Elected leaders are vital connecting points to ensure the priorities of the people at the grassroots are onboarded and bottlenecks slowing development are removed,” Kindiki stated.

The meeting brought together parliamentarians from Kisii and Nyamira Counties to assess the progress of ongoing and proposed development projects in the two regions.
Leaders discussed strategies to accelerate the implementation of these initiatives to enhance the lives of residents.
Kisii County was represented by several leaders, including National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro (South Mugirango), Senator Richard Onyonka, and MPs Alfa Miruka (Bomachoge Chache), Charles Onchoke (Bonchari), Nofalson Barongo (Bomachoge Borabu), Zaheer Jhanda (Nyaribari Chache).

Others included Innocent Obiri (Bobasi), Japheth Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North), Antony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache South), Woman Representative Dorice Donya, and Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri.
From Nyamira County, MPs Clive Gisairo (Kitutu Masaba), Steve Mogaka (West Mugirango), Patrick Osero (Borabu), Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi, and Nominated MP Irene Nyakerario were present.
