The Mavoko Law Court has dismissed an application by Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti seeking to have the bond of a resident accused of defaming her on social media revoked.
In a ruling delivered by Senior Principal Magistrate Berrick Kuto, the court found that there was insufficient evidence to support the Governor’s application. This means the accused, Felix Mambo, will remain free on bond as the defamation case against him proceeds.
Governor Ndeti, the complainant in the case, had filed an application on June 30, 2025, seeking to have Mambo’s cash bail of KSh200,000 revoked. She argued that the accused had continued to publish defamatory content against her despite being charged.
However, the court ruled that the Governor had not furnished enough proof to justify the cancellation of Mambo’s bond terms. The matter will continue to be heard before the Mavoko Law Court.
