Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has dismissed rumours suggesting a plot to oust Moses Wetang’ula from his position as Speaker of the National Assembly, reaffirming that Wetang’ula’s position remains secure.
Speaking at a church service in Khwisero, Kakamega County, Sakaja condemned the spread of “propaganda” regarding the alleged move, particularly following the recent impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Sakaja warned those harbouring ambitions for Wetang’ula’s seat, emphasising the importance of unity and collaboration rather than efforts to “bring people down.”
He also expressed appreciation for Acting Interior CS Musalia Mudavadi, commending his leadership and close partnership with President Ruto.
“Wetang’ula is here to stay as our Speaker,” Sakaja asserted, calling for an end to the divisive rumours surrounding his future in office.
