A businessman in Nairobi has urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Machakos to investigate an incident in which his ex-wife and the daughter visited his Kyumbi home in Machakos on suspicious intentions.
speaking to the media in Machakos, he said that on Monday, August 18, 2025 the daughter and her mother, both employees of Nairobi City County Government, went to his residence (at what time?) and demanded to be allowed in by the security guard.
"On the Monday, August 18, 2025 morning, my daughter Esther in the company of her mother, my ex-wife and three unknown male persons went to my home in Kyumbi and demanded to be allowed in by the security guard", he said.
But upon being denied entry, he added, they became rowdy, causing a scene outside my residence. The incident was reported to Kyumbi Police Station as OB No. 33/18/8/2025 and it is now under active investigation, he noted.
The businessman has expressed fears for his life in the wake of rising cases of homicide in various parts of the country.
The latest incident is that of a university lecturer Allan Kitavi, who was also the chairman of Komarock Residents Association Board of Trustees. He was found murdered in Thome Estate, Nairobi.
The woman and her daughter reportedly visited the businessman’s home in the company of three unidentified men who remained inside a car registration number KBY 828Q, a Toyota Alphard make, which the complainant said he gave to his ex-wife when they parted ways last year.
However, when the guard declined to open the gate, the daughter banged it severally while the mother engaged a blaring car horn that raised concerns in the neighbourhood.
Consequently, the security guard later reported the incident at Kyumbi Police Station, OB No. 33 dated 18th August 2025.
The ex-wife Joyce Bosibori Somoni is a deputy director in the Nairobi City County Government while the daughter Esther Kangai Musili also works in the county government as a clerical officer.
The businessman disclosed that the daughter, in the mother’s company and some unknown men, had so far made several attempts to access his homes Kyumbi and Runda in clandestine moves, with possible intensions of gaining access to harm him.
"I strongly believe they have been visiting my home with a motive of showing the unknown persons where I live, with the intension of plotting against me", said the businessman.
On 15th May, 2025 a High Court sitting in Nairobi entered judgement in a suit filed by the estranged wife, by allocating each of the parents appropriate responsibilities, including the children’s upkeep and education.
The court ruled that minors and other siblings would continue residing with the their mother pending determination of a suit on matrimonial property.
However, the businessman has accused the ex-wife of violating court orders that already in force, terming it a breach of peace under the prevailing circumstances.
He says the woman has disobeyed the fact that he has already been granted a final decree for divorce against the estranged ex-wife.
A High Court ruling that is in force held that in the circumstances, the minors would continue residing with the plaintiff (their mother) at their current residence in Kilimani suburbs.
Further, the court directed that the businessman would continue living in Runda with his children with his late former. He said the ex-wife has intoxicated her children against the father.
