The Government has completed the first phase of the Boma Yangu Bomet Estate, delivering 220 housing units under the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP).
Speaking about the project, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the initiative is part of the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which seeks to expand access to affordable and decent housing for Kenyans, particularly those previously unable to own homes.
Strategically located near the Centre for Devolved Governance and Bomet University College, the completed estate is ready for handover and occupancy, marking a major addition to Bomet’s growing residential landscape.
The development features a range of amenities aimed at providing residents with a secure and dignified living environment.
These include a tarmacked access road, perimeter wall, gatehouses, paved walkways, parking areas, landscaped green spaces and integrated commercial spaces.
The Government is also planning Phase Two of the development on the same site, which will add 1,600 housing units. The expansion is expected to support Bomet’s urban growth while creating opportunities for local businesses and enterprises.
Through the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, the Government has supported security planning and orderly settlement processes around the development.
Prospective homeowners can check available units and make bookings through the Boma Yangu platform.
