Freelance photographer Jackton Odhiambo, the prime suspect in the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba, has been found guilty of the offence.
In his ruling, the Eldoret High Court’s Justice Reuben Nyakundi said that Chiloba’s murder was premeditated and that Odhiambo, who was the last person to be seen with the deceased, bore malice aforethought.
Nyakundi said that the prosecution had proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the suspect had a hand in the murder.
Odhiambo will be sentenced on December 16.
Chiloba, also a fashionista, was murdered on the 2023 New Year’s Eve and Odhiambo, his roommate and suspected lover, was later arrested as the main suspect in the killing.
