Kenyan comedian and media personality Dr. Ofweneke has opened up about the personal struggles that led to the breakdown of his second marriage, revealing that alcohol played a major role in the split.
Speaking in a heartfelt interview on Radio 47, Ofweneke admitted that his lifestyle had spiralled into constant partying and late nights during his time with ex-partner Christine Tenderess. What began as casual nights out with friends slowly turned into a routine of club-hopping and sleeping in lounges, often returning home in the early morning hours.
“I was out almost every night,” he confessed. “There were times I didn’t even realise how much time had passed. I’d get home at dawn, drained and distant.”
The comedian shared that this behaviour created a growing emotional void in the relationship. With his energy and focus directed toward partying, he struggled to be present for Tenderess, both emotionally and physically.
“My actions never changed, and that weighed heavily on her,” he explained. “She was emotionally drained, and the bond between us faded.”
Ofweneke was candid in his admission that the relationship ended because he used alcohol and partying as a way to escape responsibility and avoid addressing issues.
“Even the smallest disagreements would send me back to the club,” he said. “We never had a chance to fix anything because nothing was ever discussed sober.”
