Five days after he stepped down as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO, Barry Otieno has announced bid for the federation’s top seat.
His announcement today has brought to an end speculation that shadowed his resignation.
“I wish to announce my candidacy for the presidency of the Football Kenya Federation. After serving as the federation’s General Secretary/Chief Executive Officer for the past five years, I have decided to take this step with a vision to elevate Kenyan football to new heights,” he said in a statement.
He was replaced by Nairobi City Stars boss Patrick Korir who is serving as interim CEO until new officials are elected in early December.

Others are former Kenya Premier League CEO Jack Oguda, Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla and former FKF president Sam Nyamweya.
He is expected to announce his running mate latest tomorrow afternoon.
