Singer and entrepreneur Akothee has hit back at family members criticizing her for admitting her father to RFH Hospital for a thorough medical check-up without consulting them.
In a passionate statement, she made it clear that she owes no one an explanation when it comes to caring for her father.
“This is my father, the man my mother introduced me to, and I don’t need anyone’s consent or approval when it comes to how I choose to care for him,” Akothee stated.
She revealed that previous attempts to involve her family in his well-being had been met with resistance.
“The last time I consulted you about flying him, you said, ‘He has a heart problem, don’t put him on a plane.’ she stated
Akothee explained that her move wasn’t just about medical care but also about giving her father a change of environment and allowing her mother some rest.
“My dream has always been to see my dad enjoy the fruits of my labor. I was so proud to fly him home, and I wanted my mom to take a break,” she added.
Dismissing family complaints circulating in WhatsApp groups, she challenged those who were upset to reach out directly.
“If you feel I have wronged you, stop making noise in groups I’m not part of. Call me or, if you must, send the police to arrest me,” she stated firmly.
Akothee also praised Wanga, a woman she described as an angel, for her unwavering support of vulnerable travelers on the Migori flight route.She wrapped up her message with her signature boldness: “I am not surprised, I will steal him again. You will find him in Dubai. Play with me!” She emphasized her deep commitment to keeping her father alive and healthy, ensuring he will be present for her next wedding.
