Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has shared a nuanced perspective on President William Ruto’s tenure and the upcoming 2027 General Election.

The prominent constitutional lawyer’s reflections underscore both commendations and criticisms, reflecting an objective and informed voter’s stance.

Taking to X, Ahmednasir openly admitted to disagreeing with President Ruto on many issues, yet he also recognises areas where the president has performed well.

The lawyer rated Ruto’s overall performance at 6.5 out of 10. This balanced view stems from his critical engagement with the president’s policies and governance style, where he neither blindly supports nor outright rejects the administration’s record.

While Ahmednasir has not yet finalised his decision on whether to support Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027, he emphasizes his commitment to objectivity and informed judgment.

At the moment, he leans towards Ruto compared to other candidates who have declared their interest to unseat him in 2027.

"I loathe clowns and pretenders. When I objectively and dispassionately compare Ruto against the many candidates who want to unseat him, I'm leaning towards Ruto. Today, Ruto for me and Kenya is the BETTER OPTION," said Ahmednasir.
