The Nakuru County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) at Ngongongeri Farm in Njoro Sub-County is nearing completion, with the facility expected to create more than 4,000 jobs once operational.

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo said the flagship agro-industrial investment is being jointly implemented by the National and Nakuru County Governments to drive economic transformation and expand opportunities for local communities.

The park supports the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) by promoting agro-processing, reducing post-harvest losses and creating markets for farmers.

Designed as a one-stop hub for aggregation, storage, processing and value addition, the facility will serve farmers producing tomatoes, sweet potatoes, maize and horticultural crops.

Its infrastructure includes eight warehouses, cold storage facilities, aggregation units, administrative and utility facilities, as well as modern processing lines.

The integrated facility is expected to strengthen the connection between farmers and markets by enabling agricultural produce to be stored, processed and packaged closer to production areas.

Beyond agriculture, the park is expected to stimulate local businesses, create livelihoods and support orderly commercial activity.

The Government says such investments will complement efforts to build safe and stable communities where employment, enterprise and economic growth can thrive.
