The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has upgraded its plans for the next General Election after the party leaders who are MPs from the Rift Valley region held a consultative meeting with the Members of Parliament to devise ways of strengthening coordination and party structures at grass, root levels.
The meeting chaired by UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan brought together Members of Parliament from the region who were led by the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hon.

The leaders discussed the ways of further entrenching the party’s presence at the grassroots level and consolidating the party’s support throughout the Rift Valley region.
According to the party, MPs will be the lynchpin of the UDA leadership in the design and implementation of grassroots programmes that are aimed at strengthening engagement with members and supporters ahead of the elections.
Addressing the meeting, Omar assured the legislators that the party supports them fully and reaffirmed UDA’s pledge to neutrality during the nomination process. He emphasized that the party does not have preferred candidates and will ensure a level playing field for all aspirants seeking elective positions on the UDA ticket.
The SG said the party is determined to keep fairness, transparency and impartiality as the cornerstones that shall guide its internal democracy and nomination processes.
“UDA has no favored candidates in the forthcoming general elections. The Party Leader, President William Ruto, is still committed to having a free and fair nominations process where every candidate gets an equal opportunity, ” Sen. Hassan said.
He added that credible nominations are key in building party unity and give members the confidence that the electoral process has integrity.
The MPs vowed to expand their party activities in the country and garner support for UDA and its leadership. They expressed their commitment to working with party officials to strengthen grassroots networks and engage voters on the government’s development agenda.
