President William Ruto has promised his government will act strongly against cartels sabotaging major sectors of the economy, particularly the corrupt figures in the oil industry.
While delivering a sermon in Narok, the President stated that the court will not befriend wrongdoing persons but will hand out full penalties to them.
His statement was made a day after senior officials in the petroleum sector resigned due to fall out of their involvement with an illegal oil import deal.
The Head of State restated that his administration is determined to sanitizing the entire sectors of the economy while at the same time showing sincerity and seriousness by their people and he cautioned that it is impossible even for an individual or a group to remain untouched if they are a part of the corruption network.
Meanwhile, also President Ruto reminded the citizens and leaders to hold on to unity, work together for the nation and he is and at the same time called upon them to decide on the progression and prosperity of the country.
Recently, he even instructed politicians to stay away from inciting and stirring up language used to alienate, weaken, or create division among different ethnic groups. He agreed that without a united people, the country couldn’t develop sustainably.
Furthermore, President revealed plans by Kenya to raise the capacity of sugar production to the level of export in the next 2 to 3 years. He pointed out that apart from keeping sugar factories like Chemelil and Nzoia functional, the government is also granting sugar cane farmers support and farm inputs.
