President William Ruto has paid a glowing tribute to the late Sammy Lui, describing him as a dedicated public servant, veteran broadcaster, and respected State Master of Ceremonies whose voice became part of Kenya’s national identity.

In a statement shared on his official social media pages, President Ruto praised Lui’s long and distinguished career in the media and public service, noting that his contribution to the country will be remembered for generations.

“Sammy Lui was a dedicated public servant, a veteran broadcaster, and the respected State Master of Ceremonies.,” read part of the President’s tribute.

Dr. Ruto said Lui’s journey inspired many in the media industry, adding that his professionalism and commanding presence at national events earned him respect across the country.

“His sterling career influenced many who followed in his footsteps, and his huge contribution to our media industry will not be forgotten. Our condolences to the family, friends, and the media fraternity. Rest in peace, Lui,” he added.
