Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to speeding up infrastructure and social development projects in Northern Kenya as part of efforts to promote inclusivity and affirmative action.

Kindiki said the administration will prioritise the completion of roads, electricity connections, housing, markets, health facilities, and education projects in the region to bridge development gaps.

‘The Government is committed to accelerating the roads, electricity, housing, markets, health and education projects in Northern Kenya to achieve the objective of inclusivity and affirmative action,’ he said.

The Deputy President made the remarks after meeting Members of Parliament from constituencies in Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa counties to review the progress of government programmes in their respective areas.

He said the government is keen on ensuring that residents of Northern Kenya benefit equally from national development initiatives, adding that monitoring meetings with local leaders will continue to ensure timely delivery of projects.
