Defending champions Gor Mahia are set to continue their pursuit of the top spot in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League table as they face KCB at Dandora Stadium today.
This match is part of a busy schedule featuring nine top-flight games across the country.
Currently, KCB leads the 18-team table with 13 points from five matches, while Gor Mahia is ranked seventh with six points, having played three games fewer.
In their last six meetings, Gor Mahia holds a slight edge with two wins, three draws, and one loss.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in their first encounter last season, while the return match ended in a goalless stalemate.
KCB’s last victory over Gor Mahia was during the 2022 season, where they won 1-0 in the first meeting.
Gor Mahia will need to deliver their best performance, as KCB is one of the five teams yet to lose this season, boasting four wins and a draw.

“We know we’re up against the champions. They’ve started the season strong with two wins, but we won’t focus on that. Our aim is to maintain our style of play and secure a win,” KCB coach Patrick Odhiambo stated.
Gor Mahia coach Leonardo Martins Neiva acknowledges the challenge KCB poses.
“KCB is at the top for a reason, and I expect a tough match. We’re taking it step by step, hoping for a positive outcome,” he said.
