In a recent update, Kenya’s U17 national team, the Junior Stars, has been moved to Group A for the 2024 Total Energies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations CECAFA Qualifiers.

The change follows the withdrawal of Ethiopia and Burundi from the tournament.

Originally placed in Group B alongside Somalia, South Sudan, and Sudan, Kenya will now face Uganda and Tanzania in Group A.

The Junior Stars will begin their qualification campaign with a match against Tanzania on Wednesday, followed by a game against Uganda on Saturday. All matches will be held at Nakivubo Stadium.

The top two teams from each group will earn a spot in the continental championship scheduled for 2025. The tournament, which runs from December 15 to December 27, 2024, is now divided into two groups.

The semifinals will take place on December 24 at Nakivubo Stadium:

Semifinal 1: Group B winner vs Group A runner-up

Semifinal 2: Group A winner vs Group B runner-up

The third-place match will be held on December 27, where the losers of both semifinals will compete.

The final will take place later the same day, featuring the winners of each semifinal.
