President William Ruto has said the government is undertaking major development projects in the Gusii region aimed at transforming livelihoods and unlocking economic potential.
In a statement following a consultative meeting with leaders from Kisii County and Nyamira County, the President noted that his administration is prioritising infrastructure and social development to ensure no part of the region is left behind.
Ruto highlighted affordable housing, construction of modern markets, student hostels, roads, bridges, stadia, and water projects as key pillars of the development agenda.
“We are transforming the face of Gusiiland by implementing strategic projects in Kisii and Nyamira counties, working with leaders to ensure no part of the region is left behind,” he said.
The Head of State added that the ongoing investments are already yielding tangible results, with improved infrastructure expected to boost economic activity and uplift households.
The meeting brought together regional leaders led by Kisii Governor Simba Arati and Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, alongside Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly.
