ODM national chairperson Gladys Wanga has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of exploiting the Gen Z-led protests to fuel his own political ambitions.

Speaking during a bursary disbursement event at Asumbi National School in Rangwe, where Ksh.50 million was issued through the Rangwe NG-CDF, Wanga claimed Gachagua was using the demonstrations to destabilize the government and create chaos in a bid to unseat President William Ruto.

She alleged that the recent protests in Nairobi and other towns were not spontaneous, but rather “well-coordinated efforts” backed by Gachagua and his allies under the guise of youth activism.

“Let him stop hiding behind the Gen Z movement to seek power through the back door, If he wants to be president let him wait until 2027,” Wanga stated.

She also reiterated the party’s support for the establishment of a broad-based government and warned against what she termed unconstitutional attempts at destabilizing the nation.

Rangwe MP Dr. Lilian Gogo substantiated Wanga’s stand, castigating opposition leaders for using the youth-led demonstrations for their personal political agendas.
