Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has held a consultative meeting with elders from the Athuri-a-Thaa group of Githiga Ward in Githunguri, as part of ongoing engagements on grassroots development priorities.

The elders paid a courtesy call to the governor, where discussions focused on key issues affecting the ward and ways to strengthen collaboration between local leadership and county government structures.

The meeting, which was also attended by Githiga MCA Ruth Waithira, highlighted the role of community leaders in shaping development plans and ensuring inclusive service delivery.

“The meeting, which was also attended by the Githiga MCA Ruth Waithira, provided an opportunity to engage on key development priorities for the ward. I remain committed to working closely with our community leaders to deliver impactful and inclusive development,”Wamatangi said.

Governor Wamatangi said the engagement reflects his administration’s commitment to working closely with residents and community leaders to drive impactful development across Kiambu County.

He further acknowledged the elders’ solidarity and concern following the demolition of his private business in January 2026, describing their support as a sign of strong community unity.
