Preparatorations for the 2026 Madaraka Day National Celebrations in Wajir County is almost complete with significant infrastructural developments taking shape.
Preparations involved the government announces that the Wajir Stadium on which the celebrations are to be held is now 84 per cent complete and that there are more important works proceeding at the new Wajir State Lodge.
The chairman of the National Celebrations Steering Committee, Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo expressed satisfaction with development progress seen during a direct inspection tour.
Under the guidance of his colleagues Ahmed Abdullahi and Principal Secretary for Culture and Heritage Ummi Bashir, Dr Omollo, is seen handling his file.
The officials visited the main locations, for many of the events, which the celebrations will be held in, and reassured that the Government would provide the venues on time.
It is expected that the upcoming Madaraka Day Celebrations will bring Wajir County to the front page of the national TV and boost development and infrastructural facilities in the County.
